11,477 yen has been donated to Japan Red Cross 西日本豪雨への義援金のお礼

Thank you very much for your kind support for the West Japan Rain Disaster. The sum reached £80.78 (11,477 yen) and it has been donated to Japan Red Cross this afternoon.

Last Friday, the water supply has re-started in Wajima-city in Ehime prefecture after a month. The temporally equipments of water purifiers have been used. I imagine that living without water supply in the heat wave and humid Japan had been a very difficult situation. That's why I am very happy to hear this news!

Yet, it is a great pity that I cannot physically support while there are many volunteers who are helping with the reconstruction in the heat in Japan. However, I really hope this donation will be useful and help with the recovery.

この度は皆様からのあたたかい募金を頂戴し、誠にありがとうございます。
お陰様で７月の話す会の参加者から頂いた募金と、口座送金での募金を合わせ、８０．７８ポンド（１１，４７７円相当）集まりました。本日早速、日本赤十字社へ西日本豪雨の災害義援金として送金させていただきました。

先週の金曜日から愛媛県の宇和島市では仮設の浄水施設ができ、１カ月ぶりに断水が解除されたと聞き、とても嬉しくなりました。猛暑の中で水道水なしの生活は過酷に違いありません。

日本ではボランティア活動に参加している人も多いそうですね。ロンドンにいながら何もできないのが辛いですが、義援金が少しでも役に立つことを願っております。

改めて、皆様のあたたかいご支援、心よりお礼申し上げます。
