Dear All,
Thank you very much for all your warm support this year.
It was very nice to have the new members through the members of 'Japanese Speaking Session' and 'English speaking Session’. Beginners’ session also started from the autumn. I am very pleased that my students feel more confidence. 'JAPAN FOCUS' was a great success and I appreciate for the wonderful support by Kyoko Okamoto sensei all the way from Japan. I am very happy that my students learnt a lot about the spirit of Tea ceremony.
Also, thank you very much for your donations this year. It covered the cost of Japanese snacks for the volunteers. The surplus of £146.81 was donated to North Kyushu suffering from the terrible typhoons in July. Fortunately, there was no serious disaster until December. Therefore, I donated £77.02 for the non-profit organisation ‘New Start’ which supports social withdrawals in Japan this month. It is one of severe problems in Japan. I strongly hope many social withdrawals will be able to start contributing to the society in the near future.
Thank you very much for all your kind support for Arai Academy of Japanese Studies. Each of you helped me doing all what I wanted to do in 2017.
I would like to continue providing high standard of inter-cultural platforms for all who are interested in understanding different cultures, view points and ways of thinking in a deep level. I hope this will enrich your life.

いつもお世話になっております。今年も残すところあとわずかとなりました。
新井アカデミーのメンバーの皆様にはこの一年間も大変お世話になりました。
「日本語を話す会」「英語を話す会」もほぼ毎月新しいご友人の方をお連れ頂き、新たな出会いを育むことができました。秋から初級向けも始まりましたが、お陰様で生徒たちは自信をつけてくれました。また、今年の「JAPAN FOCUS」はお茶会を実施いたしましたが、岡本恭子先生には金沢からはるばるお越しいただき、生徒たちからはお茶の精神を学ぶ機会として大変好評をいただきました。
これらのイベントによる募金も頂戴し、誠にありがとうございました。日本のお菓子の代金分にさせていただきましたが、おかげさまで超過分を７月に１４６．８１ポンドを北九州豪雨の被害者へ支援金を送らせていただきました。幸いにもその後は日本での大きな自然災害がなかったため、12月にはＮＰＯ法人で引きこもりの支援団体「ニュースタート」に７７．０２ポンドを寄付させていただきました。より多くの引きこもりの人たちが社会復帰できることを願ってやみません。
お陰様で今年もより充実した１年となり、皆様の多大なるご協力に心より深くお礼申し上げます。来年もより深い異文化理解の機会の提供に努めてまいりますので、何卒、本年同様のご愛顧を賜りますようお願い申し上げます。
様々な人々との交流を通じ、今後も国際的な視野での感性や個々の世界観を更に広げ、より充実した日々を送っていただけることを心より願っております。
