JAPAN FOCUS is the event focused on learning Japanese culture and society hosted by Arai Academy of Japanese Studies. I am delighted to inform that the Japanese tea ceremony coordinator from Japan will invite you her ceremony as JAPAN FOCUS event this year. It is fortunate to have the connection with her through one of the Japanese members. It would be wonderful to share this special opportunity. I am sure that deeper understanding on Japan will facilitate your language learning.​

   Topic: Participating Tea Ceremony
   Date: Sunday 18th of June 2017
   Time:  1st session   13:00-14:00  
             2nd session  14:30-15:30
             3rd session   16:00-17:00
                    
​              In each session, the first half will be the actual tea ceremony and the latter half will be
​              a small lecture on tea ceremony and Q&A.
           
   Place: Elephant & Castle (TBC) 
   Free of charge: The tea ceremony teacher kindly serves the ceremonies as a volunteer.
                           However, your donation will be appreciated.

The topic of the month is ‘Japanese working culture’. However, please enjoy any topics with native speakers if you wish. I hope this will provide a cross-cultural learning platform for you to exchange information, opinions and help your deeper understanding of different cultures with native Japanese speakers. Please attend the session(s) that you are interested in.

Your contribution is used to show courtesy (e.g. to purchase Japanese snacks) to the native speakers who kindly attend to talk with you. In the case of surplus, I would like to donate to the Japanese government organisation which helps people who suffer from the natural disasters in Japan.
