Japan Focus Testimonials

Every once in a while Arai-sensei will organise a Japan Focus event, where interested students come together to experience Japanese culture first-hand. I had the opportunity to attend and very much enjoyed a traditional Japanese tea ceremony with skilled Ms Kyoko Okamoto, who came all the way from Japan to introduce us into the art of 'chanoyu'. The event had been organised with meticulous care, and the memory of it will stay with me forever.

The one I attended was all about Japanese Tea Ceremony, it was fantastic and very informative. I have not experienced this elsewhere and it is another tremendous edition to the activities organised by the Arai academy. The experience of being able to personally attempt the tea ceremony process was a highlight for me and also engaging with the other people involved.

Arai Sensei organised a fascinating event highlighting the beauty of the Japanese tea ceremony. It took place in an intimate setting, allowing us to experience tea in a way we had never before. I believe that the ability to gain such an insight into an important part of Japanese culture is unique in London.

My last Japan focus was on the Tea Ceremony. The experience was unique as we could enjoy it in a small group, ask questions and try to make tea ourselves. Mineko succeeded in organising a very rewarding experience.
